Oklahoma City Ranks #14 in the Country for Job Seekers

According to a recent story released on MoneyGeek, Oklahoma City ranks among the top cities in the country for job seekers. This ranking means that job opportunities are on the rise in our community as industries like aerospace, manufacturing, and healthcare continue to expand.

When conducting the study, “MoneyGeek compared over 50 cities with labor forces of at least 500,000 and analyzed five key economic factors for each one, including wage and job growth, unemployment rate, the size of the labor force and housing affordability, to rank the top cities in the United States for job seekers.” Through the comparison, Oklahoma City was ranked number 14 for job seekers out of all 50 cities.

The study highlighted how large metropolitan areas like New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Chicago fell to the bottom of the best cities for job seekers during the period between 2020 and 2021, likely due to their economic dependence on entertainment and tourism.

Salt Lake City, Utah ranked number one on the list of cities for job seekers, with an 82.7% overall growth in jobs and wages. Oklahoma City’s growth in jobs and wages was not far behind at 60.3%, making our community one of the top five cities in the nation for job growth.
