INTERNATIONAL COMPANY TO BRING UP 770 NEW JOBS TO NORMAN

April 5, 2022

Advanced Call Center Technologies (ACT), an international company with offices in Montego Bay, Jamaica; Guatemala City, Guatemala; Douglas, Arizona; Carmichael, California; Junction City, Kansas; Harlingen, Texas; Johnson City, Tennessee; and Logan, Utah;  announced today that they will be bringing up to 770 new jobs to Norman, Oklahoma.

Philadelphia-based ACT provides multi-channel customer service support, fraud, and dispute management, claim processing, and other services to a variety of clients, including those in the financial industry. Established in 1997, the company has more than 10,000 employees across the U.S. and beyond. Operating 24/7, the company provides services in eight languages.

“ACT’s addition of our new Norman, Oklahoma customer care center is central to our 2022 and beyond growth plans,” ACT President and CEO Hunter Croft said. “Our new customer care center capacity has room for over 500 new teammates. We’re ecstatic about the opportunity to be a part of the Norman community, and it comes at an exciting time in our business journey, having just completed the transition to an employee-owned company. We know the addition of the local skilled, eager workforce along with our solid wages, great culture, and personal growth opportunities are going to be a perfect fit.”

Norman Mayor Breea Clark said she and the City of Norman are eager to welcome ACT to the community. “I am so pleased ACT has chosen our city,” she said. “We welcome them to Norman and are excited to see hundreds of new, quality jobs that provide sound benefits and stability for residents in our community. I am confident they will love their new home and all we have to offer here in Norman.” Ward Five Councilman Rarchar Tortorello echoed the Mayor’s sentiments, saying “I’m absolutely excited about new job opportunities that will strengthen Norman and ensure prosperity for all. I for one look forward to well-paying jobs in Ward 5 and thank ACT for choosing this location.”

“We are excited to welcome ACT to our state,” said Brent Kisling, Executive Director, Oklahoma Department of Commerce. “Oklahoma’s diverse talent pool continues to attract companies. We look forward to collaborating with the Norman Economic Development Coalition to help ACT get up and running for years to come.”

Cleveland County Commission Chairman Darry Stacy also offered his congratulations and support of the ACT announcement. “Economic development is a team sport that takes time to achieve,” Stacy said. “Companies like ACT, which create primary jobs are the economic drivers of cities and counties. We look forward to working with them to get these jobs filled as quickly as possible.”

NEDC Board Chairman and Oklahoma Electric Cooperative CEO Patrick Grace stated that “NEDC staff and the board of directors have worked hard behind the scenes with both parties to ensure a win for ACT, the property owner, and Norman. I think we have achieved that, and I am excited to see these new jobs coming to Norman.”

Lawrence McKinney, CEO of NEDC, added, “We’ve been working with site selectors, company officials, and local and state leaders on this project since June of 2021 and are incredibly pleased with the leadership and cooperation necessary to announce ACT as Norman’s newest corporate citizen today.  ACT will occupy the former Sitel Building in the Norman Industrial Park off Highway 9 and will have an immediate impact locally and throughout the county. After running an economic impact analysis on the creation of 770 jobs locally, we know it will have a substantial ripple effect:”

  • On top of the 770 direct jobs, 440 additional business to business (B2B) jobs will be created
  • 135 business to consumer (B2C) jobs will be created
  • With a combined total payroll of  $49,692,451 annually
  • $15,411, 922 in City, County, School, State, and Federal Taxes annually

Pete Wilson, Top of the World founder, purchased the former Sitel building in the Norman Business Park in 2020 and said he is excited to have new neighbors and a long-term tenant, remarking that he feels the ACT is “a perfect fit for the space as well as our community.”
