Most builders use a 16 SEER AC condenser and 80% efficient furnace, which is the minimum allowed by the government. That’s the bottom end of the spectrum though. We install a 16 SEER AC and 96% efficient furnace, not only because it’s more energy-efficient—saving our customers an enormous amount money—but because it makes our customers’ homes more comfortable by maintaining a more constant temperature.
Having a tight home envelope is essential for energy-efficiency. Our new air filtration system virtually eliminates allergens, bacteria, dust and smoke by as much as 100 times more effectively than our competitors’ systems.
Insulation is important to the comfort and energy efficiency of your home, so let me explain about how Homes By Taber ensures you get the right protection to keep the inside temperatures—hot OR cold—from getting inside.
We also apply LP Solar TechShield, a radiant heat barrier, to the underside of the roof. It has a foil laminate on the bottom and roof decking on the top. What this does is reduce the UV rays from permeating your home. By reflecting that heat back outside, you save about 20% on your home heating and cooling costs.
We pay our HVAC contractor to do an additional process called “masticking". The mastic is applied around every seem or joint, preventing leakage. It’s another step we take to make sure your home is as airtight as we can make it.
Another important feature of your home is its energy efficiency. We don’t just promise an energy-efficient home. We certify it. The Home Energy Rating System—or “HERS”—is a third-party certification for energy-efficiency.
Outdoor living spaces have become much more important to homeowners. It’s a great way to get outside, enjoy fresh air and entertaining outdoors in a comfortable, relaxing space. We put as much attention to detail to our outside living area as we do for the inside.
At Homes by Taber, we install a front and back sprinkler system, fully sodded front and back yards, as well as an enhanced landscaping package to complete your outdoor living space.
In addition to the fully sodded yards and enhanced landscaping that is included in our homes, Homes by Taber includes a full sprinkler system in every single home we build.
Watch one of our Homes by Taber Community Sales Managers as he explains the "why" behind our storm shelters. These are an included feature in every single home we build.
Did you know that indoor air has more pollutants than outdoors? It’s a fact! This is why we bring outdoor fresh air into every home we build through our Fresh Air Intake System.
Homes By Taber only uses eggshell finish paint in our homes, as opposed to flat. Flat paint doesn’t stand up to cleaning, while eggshell paint is wipeable—which is particularly important when you have kids with dirty hands or crayons that just seem to get out of control.
Homes by Taber uses eggshell paint in ever home built to protect their buyer's investment and keep it looking new. Eggshell paint comes in all of the same colors as flat paint does, so to us, there is no reason to not use eggshell paint in our homes.
We clearly label each circuit so you can manage the power to any room in your home without having to guess or play trial and error.
Our warranty program is one of the biggest differentiators for Homes By Taber. We have a fully staffed, in-house warranty department. It’s not a superintendent or outsourced somewhere else. They are 100% dedicated, full-time to serving our customers’ warranty issues. You can call any time—weeknights and weekends included, and you’ll talk to a person—not a machine.
When Homes by Taber was formed, there was a vision of not only giving back through financial donations, but through the entire company volunteering their time. Learn more about our Taber Cares program.
