Going green. Energy Efficient. HERS Ratings. What does that all mean for a homebuyer?

In a biodegradable nutshell, it means that the more energy efficient your home, the more MONEY YOU WILL SAVE on utilities, the less your CARBON FOOTPRINT will be on the planet, the more COMFORTABLE your home will be, and the HEALTHIER your home will be, which is why Homes by Taber proudly provides the most energy efficient homes in Oklahoma, according to RESNET, that are energy rated.

Ranked #1 IN OKLAHOMA and #5 IN THE NATION for the lowest avg. HERS scores by RESNET.

TheHERS IndexEnergy Efficient Homes

The HERS Index is a scoring system established by the Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET) and provides an easily understandable means to compare the relative energy efficiency of different homes.  A typical existing home scores a 130, but the average score for a Homes by Taber home is 41.1, which means that we are saving our customers around $1,500 a year in energy bills, which can equal a mortgage payment a year for many of our homeowners. Buyers should think of a HERS score as they would a golf score, the lower the better! When shopping for a home, buyers should keep in mind that if the home is not rated, it is not energy efficient.

When we build a home, we go above and beyond the recommended RESNET standards to provide an even more energy efficient home.

Many things that are done to make homes energy efficient are hidden by the walls of the home and can be overlooked by customers. This is one reason why some builders choose not to complete these items.

Our Happy Homeowners

As a home inspector, I come across Taber-built homes frequently. Without exception these inspections are somewhat boring for me as there just isn’t a lot to find. Today, for example, a new build broke my inspection record for fewest deficiencies. They just build solid, efficient homes with great features. Highly recommended!
